Speaking in Public: MAPPER


Modulation Vary tone, pitch and speed. Be dramatic and confident.
 
Articulation Speak with clarity. Do not swallow words.
 
Pronounciation Say the words correctly. Beware of using malapropisms.
 
Projection Push the voice to the back of the room. If possible, speak from the diaphragm, or, if not, raise the volume but do not overstrain the voice box.
 
Enunciation Over-emphasise and accentuate consonants.
 
Repetition Say key phrases more than once with sometimes changes of emphasis.
