Claire At Castle Leoch. This is based on the Outlander television Series 1 scene where Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser resolves a conflict after Jamie's 'discipline'. In the book Outlander/ Cross Stitch the scene is before arrival back at Castle Leoch and is not based on Jamie seeing that flexibility is better than rigid practice. Image is 1550 by 1200 and is shown much reduced.
Above is the initial drawing using colour marker pens. The scene is derived not from one shot in the Outlander scene from the fictional Castle Leoch but the camera moving vertically. Parts of the scene are added, e.g. the reflection.
This was completed in late October 2018 and the image is 1550 by 1200, shown at about 37% here.The paints are acrylic and it is on a purchased canvas of 60 by 50 cm. The idea is to pick up the orange light of the fire, the yellow light of the candles and the bluer light from outside.
